Google Newest Operating System Android O to be Released

Google announced early in this month the release of its newest operating system for Android phones, this version will be a follow up to their current operating system Nougat. Although the new operating system is not officially named yet, there are rumors it is to be named Android O or Android One, with this new update we are expecting to see some great features to enhance the smartphone’s capabilities.

Pixel Phone Made by Google and How it Stack up Against Apple

The latest Google’s Pixel phones are finally arrived by stepping into the smartphone competition to show what a new Android version looks like. The Pixel phones features software integration to premier Google’s services, including Google Assistant, Google Photos with unlimited cloud storage and Daydream -Mobile Virtual Reality.

The competition between smartphones is thinner than ever, unique features have become more common and more important than pure specifications between devices. Every major smartphone can take great photos, work faster, and run the apps smoothly so that the buying decision is becoming tougher than ever before. Today’s smartphone market is an extremely competitive market, with the major companies like Apple, Samsung, LG, and more. After a long waiting period, Google has controls over both hardware and software with the Pixel superior smartphone entry.

Google does not want to specifically compete with its own partners such as Samsung, LG and others, but their latest smartphone Pixel is much more likely to compete with Samsung rather than. An overview of new Pixel phones, they actually look like Apple’s latest iPhone 7 or a little too similar, but it could attract long-time iPhone owners who are waiting to switch to Android without sacrificing design. The main concern to some Android users is that the Pixel phones are lacking few features such as wireless charging, but it has rapid recharge capability, charging in just 15 minutes , users can get 7 hours of battery life. The Pixel devices are not water-resistant, and no stereo speakers like the latest iPhone 7.

iPhone 7 Plus is really changing the photography game in smartphones by dipping into its dual-lens camera and optical image stabilization. On the other side, Google’s Pixel camera also looks good on paper by touted a DXOMark of 89 rating, which is the highest rating ever for a smartphone in the present market.

3.5mm jack in Pixel phone is satisfyingly not new in Pixel which is a reference to Apple’s decision to eliminate the port in their latest smartphone iPhone 7, irritated some customers.

Pixel phones are the first devices to offer the latest version of Android 7.1 Nougat, it delivers a whole host of improvements including Google Assistant integration and new shortcuts. Nougat also offers added features, like the ability to use multiple apps simultaneously in split-screen mode.

However, this time branding is explicitly Google, the name of the event says “Made by Google”. Google is presenting the Pixel as their phone, not an Android phone with stock firmware.

The New iPhone 7 is Packed with Innovations

Apple finally announced the latest, advanced and most powerful iPhone ever made, iPhone 7 & 7 Plus. The company touted all the new innovative features of the devices, the sleek new design, the new iPhone 7 design starts with new Glossy Black color variant, called Jet Black, it is high glass finish, iPhone 7 is also available in, gold, silver and rose gold.

The 2nd upgrade is a redesigned Home button, it is more sensitive and added Taptic Engine which provides more responsive and an incredible feel, that third party applications can take advantages of Taptic Engine API for creating new feelings and use experiences. The third is water and dust resistance, the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus come standard with IP67 protection standards, this means the new iPhone is safe even if dropped it in water.

The 4th upgrade is An entirely new camera, there are huge advancements for photography with phones, adding optical image stabilizers to help shaking-hands, larger ƒ/1.8 aperture lenses and a six‑element lens for a sharp image in low light. And with advanced new features like wide color capture for more vibrant pictures. It comes with Quad-LED True Tone flash with flicker sensor, that flickers artificial lighting to improve image quality. Apple also designed an image signal processor which performs multiple operations while taking each picture.

The iPhone 7 plus has two cameras to take quality pictures even in zoom, those are 12 MP cameras, one is a wide angle 28mm lenses the same as the iPhone 7 and the other telephoto with 56mm lens. Also added is a sneak peek feature that provides depth of field capabilities which makes a beautiful blur to the background of an image like photography in DSLR cameras.

The 5th is Retina HD display, that cinema p3 standard color management with 3D touch layer. The 6th is a built-in New stereo speaker system, it is twice as loud as the iPhone 6s and has increased dynamic range. The 7th are Earpods. This time, there is no 3.5mm jack, the new iPhone connecting earpods with lightning only. Ther 8th is AirPods, it is Wireless, Effortless, and Magical. Apple designed a new W1 chip to produce intelligent high-efficiency playback and reliable connections. Added infrared sensor to detect when each AirPod is in your ear, so they only play once you are ready to listen, motion accelerometer for more features like double-tapping to lift the call. W1 chip also enables intelligent connection to allow you to instantly switch between apple devices.

The9th is Apple Pay, that keeps all your credit cards and loyalty cards safe and secure on Apple wallet. The 10th is a new generation quad-core A10 Fusion chip, it performs faster, more efficiency and has improved graphics.  

However, there were some more aspects of the new iPhones that the company did not reveal during the event. iPhone 7 has 2GB of RAM, which is the same as the Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. As we mentioned above iPhone 7 is IP67-certified but as per the device’s official product page, liquid damage is not covered by the warranty. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus also come with NFC. And new Apple iPhone has a range of new capabilities with every release but this time, the most impressive capabilities are not related to the new iPhone role as communications devices.

Web Payment API allows Chrome to make mobile payments easier

People despise filling out web forms on PC’s as well as mobile devices, Chrome introduced an Autofill feature for their browser to make this easier for users by auto-completing the fields in the web forms based on a chrome user Autofill profile.

Google recently introduced two new APIs for the smartphone version of Chrome. Credential Management API makes it easier to keep track of multiple login information from Chrome’s mobile browser. Though Chrome’s app has had password-management features for some time, the new tool makes logging in even simpler. This chrome API enables chrome users to sign in with just one tap. When a user signs into Chrome, chrome can sync the user’s passwords across devices and synced passwords can also be shared with any Android apps.

Buying products on the mobile web can be a frustrating experience for every user. Different websites have different flows and validation rules, that requires users to manually type the same set of information again and again. At the same time, it is also a difficult and time-consuming process for developers to create user-friendly checkout flows for different and multiple websites.

A new Web Payment API allows a browser to act as an intermediary between the web store and online buyers and also the payment method or bank, users can complete the checkout process with just one touch. Bank credentials are always necessary to process and confirm a transaction and to process the payment method. So, the buyer can confirm and authorize the payment flow via a browser, and auto-fill their payments and shipping information while in the checkout process from multiple websites.

When the user initiates a payment process while buying a product from a web page, that web page immediately creates a “PaymentRequest API” to make a payment. If a user starts an interaction for the payment request, some kind of user interface will be presented to the user to facilitate the payment request. Here, the Web Payment API allows the chrome browser to exchange information with the “PaymentRequest API”. If the user accepts the payment request, browser approved and returned the required fields, that includes payment method, shipping details, payer email address, and phone number. If above details were already set in the browser, the payment options get passed to the “PaymentRequest API”, then the browser interaction will be complete and the payment process will be processed. If the user does not accept the payment request within the allowed time period, then the request will be aborted.

The mission of the Web Payment API is to make mobile payments easier and more secure on the web browser and provide an intellectual interface between a web page and a Payment method to facilitate a payment transaction, this is expected to streamline the checkout process, reduce shopping cart abandonments and make new payment methods easier on the Web.

Apple’s latest updates and features at WWDC 2016 for iPhone and iWatch

This time, Apple focuses on only software, no new hardware has been released. At WWDC 2016 Apple announced latest updates and features primarily on iOS, MacOS, tvOS and watch OS.

iOS 10: iOS 10 features started with a redesigning Lock screen, includes 3D-touch, notifications that enable access to more information, easily accessible camera, and new widgets. Control Center also has been redesigned with the support of 3D Touch and a wake-up feature that wakes up the screen without bypassing notifications. iphone Siri can do a lot more in iOS 10. An updated Siri allows developers to build Siri support into their apps so that we can now ask Siri to do more things with third party apps like a Uber to book a ride or WhatsApp to send a message.

Messages have been updated with new features like background animations, bubble effects, sketching feature, which also was introduced on the Apple Watch, this feature allows users to create drawings. A predictive emoji feature that can suggest words in the message to replace emoji’s, by tapping on selected emoji, that word will replace the emoji automatically. Message app has its own Message App Store in this update, so iOS developers can create iMessage apps that can be used and improve Message app with unlimited capabilities. Message app can now send stickers and GIFs to order dinner and make payments.

And Apple added a dedicated Home app to operate multiple HomeKit devices, Photos app improved the recognition feature. Map and Music apps also have redesigned.

Watch OS 3: watchOS 3 is a significant update, introducing new apps, new watch faces, and impressive performance improvements. According to Apple, it is going to feel like a whole new watch. Navigation has been improved, with left and right swipes now used to change the iwatch face.

Activity sharing is new in watchOS 3, allowing Apple Watch owners to share their workout and activity information with friends to compete with each other  stay motivated. New activity-based Smart Replies in the app are available to communicate with friends and family over activity achievements. There are settings in the Activity app to customize workouts and activities for wheelchair users, with wheelchair pushes contributing to all-day calorie goals.

A new Breathe app is designed to guide Apple Watch owners through daily deep breathing sessions to cut down on stress and induce relaxation, and there are also new Reminders and Find My Friends Apps. There are three new watch faces, including Minnie Mouse, simple numerals face, and an Activity face that shows activity rings plus more faces can work with complications.

An SOS feature will automatically call emergency services when the side button pressed, no matter where you are in the world, and the Apple Watch can now be used to unlock a password protected Mac’s with new Continuity functionality.

The Messages app redesign makes it quicker to reply to incoming texts, and a new “Scribble” feature allowing you to write on the Apple Watch face with a finger.

Mainframes: A mainframe is simply a large computer and entirely different from a PC. The mainframe name comes from the way it builds up. All units of the machine were set up into a frame. Initially, there was no operating system for mainframes, only hard wired and it need have hundreds of switches to have the machine calculate a table. The smaller version of the IBM 360 mainframe was the revolutionized computing in the 1960’s.

The primary purpose of mainframes was to run commercial applications of Fortune 1000 companies and other large-scale computing purposes. This was included banking and insurance businesses because they have enormous amounts of data are processed every day.

Microcomputer: In 1971, Intel introduced the first microprocessor chip and started the microcomputer revolution. Microcomputers had a significant impact on our society, economy and culture. As advantages of microcomputer increased, buyers began to own machines to take over expensive routine tasks like typing, copying, mailing, budgeting and managing lists.
